All About Me

Born and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, I was destined to be an artist with The King's blue suede influence. The black sheep of my medically-inclined family, I dreamed for years of being an actress. After my fair share of plays in cat costumes, I realized the spotlight just wasn't for me. After a sudden change of plans before my last year of high school, I was forced to start over at a new school. I won't lie- it was horrific. But the one thing that kept me going was my art class. My teacher was fun and inspiring. I would get lost in the projects she gave us designing various products and packaging. And when the time for me to choose a major at Mississippi College the following summer, I didn't think twice.

Fast-forward two years later, where I was working my little heart out in the print shop of an office supply store in the middle of a Mississippi summer. Teachers would come and go, getting things printed and laminated. In my spare time, instead of cleaning or doing whatever I should have been doing, I wandered my way to aisle eight, the teacher's go-to aisle. It had everything from crayons, colored pencils, and markers, to stickers, charts, and grade books. It was love at first sight. I decided to pursue the alternate route program at MC and continue on to achieve the MAT degree.

Art is my passion. I love looking at visual art, but I more so enjoy creating digital art. I enjoy creating works like posters, branding campaigns, and stationery. I also have extensive printing experience, having worked both in a small print shop setting and for a printing company.

Now, I work as a high school art teacher at the SAME SCHOOL where I fell in love with art all those years ago. I'm so honored that I get to pass on the same love and passion for art that was given to me and, ultimately, changed my life.
